In a phone call, almera drew my attention to the fact that certain companies have allegedly been asking the Schufa for inquiries about identity or age verification since 2020.

It's companies like LeoVegas, PlayCherry, GB Group Inc. or DigiMedia!

This can actually only be related to a verification. But that doesn't make any sense at all, because you also have to upload or send your ID for verification.

I think it's a joke to get this confirmed again by querying the Schufa. Especially if you also connect to it online casinos can deduce as far as the names of the query companies are concerned.

For one or the other, this could have a negative effect if you need a loan from a bank or something else and these queries are important.

However, I cannot answer whether this really plays a role and whether querying banks get this information for the identity or age verification of others at all.

The question also remains whether these are only querying companies that have applied for a German license. I haven't noticed anything like this with myself, but I haven't registered with casinos that follow German regulations in 2020 either.

What I find crucial, however, is that in principle there can be no consent for the companies to query the data at the Schufa.

Have you noticed anything similar? Just take a look for yourself and if that's the case with you, then you can tell us about it here.
