Novomatic AG is suing game manufacturer EGT

Novomatic AG has now filed a lawsuit with the Berlin Regional Court against Euro Game Technology Ltd. (EGT) based in Bulgaria and its German sales partner, D-Systems GmbH based in Hanover. The reason for this lawsuit, according to Novomatic, is the imitation of games in essential elements, which EGT is said to have systematically adopted. These are the following games: "Ultimate Hot", "Olympus Glory", "Flaming Hot", "5 Dazzling Hot", "Lucky Hot" and "Extremely Hot". Novomatic is suing for a cessation of sales and is claiming damages.

In addition to EGT, D-Systems also sells Ainsworth slot machines, in which Novomatic happened to take over 53% of the majority shares this year.

Novomatic is consistently continuing its expansion and, thanks to numerous international subsidiaries, is the "global player" in this business.

Should Novomatic be successful with this lawsuit, this will probably also have an impact on the online business and thus also that online Casino Quasar Gaming, which offer games from Novomatic and EGT. The same applies to the casinos that offer slot machines from both manufacturers in parallel.

It will be interesting to see how this develops or whether Novomatic only wants to use such actions to get rid of uncomfortable competitors who may not be willing to let themselves be taken over.
