Casino wants to know how much I earn per month!!!

I just got an email from Vulkan Bet a ( I think serious ) casino:

As a bookmaker licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) we need to know that the source of the funds that customers play with us is legitimate. Therefore, at times when certain limits and thresholds are reached, we may require customers to provide evidence to validate the source(s) of funds they are using.

We know this may be the first time you have been asked this question, but it is a clear licensing requirement from the MGA and some of the EU legislation.

VulkanBet is not the only one who collects this kind of information from customers and it is likely that other bookmakers will also request this information from you if your spending/games reach an equivalent level.

What we would need in this regard is the following:

� A statement stating your primary source of income - e.g. B. Salary / investments / inheritance / savings / etc

� Documentation showing the stated source of your deposits at Casino - e.g. B.: Bank account with incoming salary credits / dividends from investments credited to your bank account / transfer of inheritance funds / etc


Does this mean that I have to show the casino how much money I'm making with a bank statement?
I think that's extremely disgusting!

Is that legal, can they ask for something like that? What do you think?

Yes, unfortunately that is legit! Casinos in Malta in particular are subject to new regulations.
Basically, they just want to know where the money comes from with the gambles, they have little interest in what and how much you earn!

I've heard something like that somewhere but haven't experienced it myself. I think you have to verify yourself to receive a payout? If so and it's a larger sum, I would probably grit my teeth and then never play there again.
If it's not about a payout but just about verifying the account I wouldn't do it.

Whereby you can possibly leave the subject visible on an excerpt, i.e. salary receipt or what is written there, but black out the sum. I would try it like that.

Whether they are allowed to do that, well I'm afraid you can't do anything about it, at least I don't know what.

This is nothing more than a re-verification, without which you will not get any money. As I said, they only want to know the source and not numbers, glumbi has indicated it, just black out the numbers.

I would absolutely not classify this as our opinion (quite the contrary).

This measure is now justified due to the requirements of the MGA and the general current legal basis.

I was asked by a casino to verify myself after the hundredth deposit (small amounts) or after reaching the total deposit amount of €2000. Mind you, I had never requested a payout and had no intention of doing so. The verification request arose solely from the deposits!

It is sometimes frightening how many new requirements the licensors are now bound to. A few years ago you didn't have to do any verification at all. Looking at it another way, it makes perfect sense when you consider how much fraud there is in connection with OCs.
