General introduction of VAT duties on German players...
...and more information that applies to many affiliate programs.
We would like to address the topic in our house and say something about one or the other point.
Providers such as Stargames and Sunmaker have sent it to their partners by email, from 01.01.2015 OCs have to pay the regular 19% VAT from each player to the German tax authorities. In a former game library community, which now runs a forum, there seems to be a lot of discussion about it. Well, let's put that aside, it's not our construction site.
How this levy will affect the individual income, no one can say to date, because there is neither a detailed list nor an explanation of the partners. We didn't really want to speculate in the team, that's no use to anyone and causes all the more confusion.
We are generally curious how the big partners will behave and reveal how they will deal with this new tax. So we can wait and see how the whole thing develops and what effects it will have on the individual affiliates.
We will stay up to date for you and will report!
AW: General introduction of VAT levies on German players...
I've already received an email where the "fees" have been adjusted. I wasn't able to tell from the email whether this was related.
But the tax changes resulted in at least one platform (iGame, 24h-Bet) being completely closed to German players.

The fees were raised quite outrageously at Stargames, don't think it was because of the VAT increase, because the fees apply to all players, not just from Germany. There should be a separate thread about Stargames, as I knew for a long time, they have a really bad scam, due to the fees that have always been there, the actual net profit for an affiliate is just 10 -11 %, instead of the standard 25% you actually earn. Pretty pranks in my eyes and when I brought this up with Josh, only flimsy excuses came out.
I was able to prove all this very early on, since my account there is a very old one and I had the pleasure of seeing all the statistics in my account for a long time. As a player, tracked via your own account including all statistics.... pretty bad store I can only say.
PS: The forum rights were a bit twisted, so all posts here were set to moderation, should work now!

Oh that's why Josh apparently urged me to take RevShare instead of CPA... :)
Well.. luckily my focus isn't on Stargames. Let's see how the others develop.

So with regard to Stargames, it is said that casino customers only have to confirm their details or enter them correctly.

Note for all players whose main place of residence is within the European Union (EU): As of January 1.1.2015, XNUMX, a new regulation for the offsetting of VAT will come into force across the EU, which requires you to provide precise information about your main residence and obliges us as a platform to check your information. For this reason, all players from the EU must have their telephone number, address and country information filled out completely and correctly.
Don't worry: There are NO additional costs with your deposit!
Assuming that they had to pay €50 for a German player who deposits €9.50, no casino could afford that without passing it on to customers or turning the screw.
The casinos with a Schleswig Holstein gaming license could do this, but only for Schleswig Holstein resident players.
All very complicated and opaque.
What about payouts?
The following sentence is a bit confusing:

Please do this carefully and make sure that all information is correct - this is the only way we can ensure that we charge you the correct VAT rate and that the taxes are paid properly.
Does it mean that you really only have to give correct information so that they can assign and manage it correctly, or is there something else that the players may have to do, no matter in what form, to compensate for these costs?
When it comes to the legal situation of the countries, I can't actually charge VAT wherever it is "illegal".
There are casinos that already charge fees for deposits and withdrawals. All you have to do is give these things a specific name.
What will happen to affiliate earnings?
Many fees (not specified) are already being deducted or included in the calculation. We can't understand that at all. Basically, they can do whatever they want.
I think there will definitely be more to come (see UK license fee), but it remains to be seen how and in what form this will happen.

Now the first big one in the industry has already struck in the neighboring country. Apart from that Affutd belongs to the worst kind anyway and partners should keep their hands off this program. Affutd in particular was dependent on its affiliates for a very long time and today, when they do their main business with sports betting, they kick their partners in the butt. Fine way to stop making payments!

Dear partner,
We would like to inform you that due to the legal situation in Austria, there is a tax burden of 40% on gross gaming income.
Beginning June 1, 2015, Affiliates United will deduct the above Gaming Gross Income charge from Gaming Net Income in accordance with the Terms of Use posted on affutd.com. Consequently, your monthly income from June 1, 2015 will also be determined on the basis of the reduced gaming net income.
This only applies to income from gaming products generated by people residing in Austria.
For more detailed information on this topic, please contact your affiliate manager.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to continuing our successful partnership with you.
Sincerely,
Affiliates United Team
