2021 the year of hopes

I wish all readers a happy new year 2021. The old year is now behind us and the painful memories of it will accompany us for a lifetime.

But even in this new year we will still be restricted by COVID-19. We won't be rid of the virus anytime soon. The current lockdown will definitely be extended because the high numbers leave us with no other option.

The glimmer of hope is the vaccine, but there are also delays and nobody knows at this point in time whether, as a "vaccinated person", you can continue to infect others. Even if we should manage to establish what is known as herd immunity, we will still be dealing with it for a long time.

For those who have been vaccinated, however, this does not automatically mean that they are free of the virus or no longer have to comply with the protective measures.
This would not be possible until 80% of the population were vaccinated. As long as it is called patience and solidarity.

The next few months will show whether we humans are patient enough or have not learned anything from the situation. Because right now it doesn't look like it if you look at the actions of many people over the holidays.

All I can say is don't take any risks, protect yourself as much as possible and stay healthy. Because life and health is the highest good we have.
