Millions of hacked websites

It's been a topic in the affiliate area for a long time and it's about time we talked a few words about it. A whole gang, probably of Eastern European origin, has been hacking websites and planting redirection tools towards casino sites for months. Mostly websites that have nothing to do with the casino business are affected. The whole website constructed with Wordpress is preferably run through, the hackers gain access via plugins.

The whole page two on google are hacked websites and they all lead to the same result. Often the operators do not even notice that their website has been hacked and so unsuspecting providers become victims of criminals. A shame for the whole business are partner programs like Affactive that support such criminals.

For people who operate a website themselves and use Wordpress, we recommend deleting unnecessary plugins and always making updates promptly. One of the plugins that the hackers used to break in is the default plugin Akismet, which comes bundled with the WordPress installation!
