Hi,

Unfortunately, I'm currently ill, so I'm not there that much, but I don't want to miss the opportunity to briefly address the bankruptcy of Thomas Cook.

I read about it yesterday and was surprised, I never expected it. Condor and Neckermann Reisen etc. are attached to it, it is hard to imagine that they will all disappear.

It's really tough in the travel market, you can hardly be sure that the trip will go as planned, no matter where or with whom you book. When you read that Brexit in the UK also contributed to this, you start to wonder whether it all had to happen that way.

I've read that too, madness I wouldn't have expected that something like that could be.

I would never have thought of the group when it came to bankruptcy, was very surprised. Now chaos is everywhere, let's see how this develops. And then again the reports that the boss of the group collects a million severance pay, if that's the case, it's awesome.

It's the usual procedure that bosses and managers fill their pockets with. Not infrequently, even months in advance, the money is transferred to third-party accounts.

These money vultures always don't even think about the poor people who all lose their jobs.

Yes, unfortunately, the little ones are always the biggest losers.

Yes, it's always frightening to see how giant companies are driven into bankruptcy, all incompetent people are there at the front.

Yep, it also makes it difficult where to book, especially booking individual flights that are only in 8 or 10 months, I don't trust them at the moment.

I feel the same way, the whole thing is difficult.

Yes, just wait, that's all you can do at the moment. My parents booked a trip through Neckermann in January next year, fortunately only paid for it no longer, we have to wait and see what happens there.

Of course, most people didn't realize that they were going bankrupt in advance, you have to say that it was very surprising.

Glumbi

I say yes, nobody could have guessed that beforehand.

I was also very shocked, I have often flown with individual tour operators and I always felt that I was in good hands.

Can I confirm that Mary was always good here with us.

It wasn't just the airline that was behind it, but the whole company, including hotels, package tours, etc. Some of the guests were thrown out of the hotel's doors because the organizers hadn't transferred the money for months.

We ourselves were often away with Neckermann, also in the smartline hotels, which are also part of it. My parents' next trip actually starts on January 12.01.20th, 31.12.19 to Gran Canaria, booked with Neckermann Reisen, currently still open whether that will take place or not. All trips are canceled until December XNUMXst, XNUMX, there is still hope that they will go away.. You can't book the stupid new thing either because if the trip can take place, you have two at the same time..

Ulken

Annoying, I would still book again, better that way than not getting away at all in the end.

Glumbi

Well it's all a question of money or attitude.

The story is really bad, I have two cases in my circle of acquaintances who are affected and some have saved for a really long time.. that's really bad.

What I don't understand is that they have insurance against these bankruptcies, but based on the bookings they are completely underinsured, why doesn't anyone check this, we can't be underinsured either.. I can't understand that.

Very clear thing Gambler, I see the whole thing completely incomprehensible.

Ulken
21.10.19, 13: 54
Would still book something again, better than standing there without anything at the end.

Glumbi
22.10.19, 07: 57
Yes, old brat...

Ulken
28.10.19, 10: 08
Careful, it has nothing to do with this. I just wouldn't feel like standing there without a trip at the end.

MaryP

The whole topic is just terrible and tragic for everyone involved and of course not everyone can book twice, at least I think so.

It's still hope and fear for everyone whose trip should start in 2020, I get that from my parents, they don't know what will happen with their trip on January 11.01.20th, XNUMX.

Gambler
04.11.19, 08: 35
That's really bad bastard, especially sitting around so uncertain and not knowing what's coming.. really blatant.

Glumbi
04.11.19, 09: 14
Yes, they're sitting on coals, let's see nothing has happened yet.

Glumbi
25.11.19, 13: 06
Well, it is now clear that all trips have also been canceled for 2020, my parents have now submitted an application for compensation, let's see when and how much will come. But they have now booked again, this time via Tui. We won't register bankrupt then...

Ulken
03.12.19, 11: 41
Well, so many got stuck on it, do you want pity?

Glumbi
04.12.19, 19: 37
Oh no, you were probably too much in the sun during the South America trip...

Gambler
10.12.19, 09: 10
Oh dear, some things will probably not change here either.

Glumbi
10.12.19, 09: 19
N™ you probably don't. :wh15:

Ulken
13.12.19, 10: 41
Whatever you have, don't be silly, I'm always right anyway.

Glumbi
16.12.19, 18: 35
Oh Ulken sometimes your senseless behavior and your comments are just annoying..
