Interesting news comes from Ladbrokes ceasing operations in the state of Hesse.

Not quite understandable, because the Hessian state government, which is responsible for the State Treaty on Gambling, is demanding a reorganization of the Gambling Act, which includes work permits for casinos and sports betting. In order to make gambling laws in Germany more effective, Hessen wants the market to be overhauled, divided and liberalized.

To this end, the Hessian Minister of the Interior, Peter Beuth, has drawn up a five-point plan. The ministry's proposals should also persuade the other federal states to adapt the contract.

The guidelines, which are available to the EU Commission in Brussels, contain the following:

1. Granting permission for casino and poker games on the Internet should be possible without quantitative limitations.

2. Permits for sports betting should be able to be granted without quantitative restrictions. Any provider that meets the already high requirements under gambling law should be able to obtain a permit." The ban on live betting should also be reconsidered in order to "adapt the requirements for the design of sports betting to market needs to adapt

3. The introduction of self-limitation options for the player as well as the introduction of loss limits instead of betting limits.

4. Instead of the gaming college, to establish an institution under public law that would be responsible for granting licenses, bans and the like.

5. Set up a legal basis to enable arcades to be connected to the nationwide central blocking file.

It actually makes no sense to promote Ladbrokes at all if you have to explicitly mention what is excluded and what is not and we are only talking about a region or state and not the country. There is no control, let alone insight into individual federal states.
